    ICAIT History
With continuous innovation of information technology and the widely use of network in operation by enterprises, the integration of information technology into accounting has become an important trend in twenty-first century. In order to respond to such shocks immediately and effectively, and to promote the interaction of academia and practitioners, the Department of Accounting and Information Technology at the National Chung Cheng University (CCU) hosted the 1st ICAIT in 2005. With the experience of hosting the 1st ICAIT conference, the department assisted Hong Kong Polytechnic University (H.K.) and Tatung University (Taipei) in organizing ICAIT 2007 and ICAIT 2008. In 2010, the department hosted the 4th ICAIT and invited numerous domestic and international industrial and academic elitists to join the festivities. The number of submissions and acceptance rates in the last four seminars are shown in the following table. Recently, the international accounting system, green IT and corporate social responsibility and others are issues valued by many. Facing an era of rapid changing environment, government officials and experts are required to develop an effective response strategy. To facilitate the discussions of these important issues, the Fifth International Conference on Accounting and Information Technology will be held in 2014. The ICAIT 2014 will focus on current emerging issues and brainstorm solutions by all participants.

    Conference Aims
Due to globalization and the rise of the Internet, investors requirements for the company's financial reporting and disclosure increase. However, there are no identical accounting principles for countries to follow; in addition, the fact that the companies information disclosure format on the network has not been standardized. These make the process of data reuse and analysis more difficult. In order to share the financial reporting globally, first of all is to use globally applied accounting principles, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), which has been adopted by more than 115 countries so far. Taiwan also adopted IFRS in 2013 to enhance international competitiveness in capital markets and lower cost for multinational corporations. In addition, the push to improve transparency of financial information using Information Technology (IT) when facing investors increasing demand for public information has become a new trend in the IT industry.
In view of this, the department of Accounting and Information Technology of National Chung Cheng University (CCU) will specially invite foreign experts and scholars in related fields. They will make speeches by theme "The IFRS Era and IT Trend" to introduce a series of new knowledge and application development. Attendees can make meetings with foreign scholars through direct interaction, discuss and exchange different views. After the conference, not only attendees can gain valuable advice and be geared to international standards but promoting integration of domestic research and international research and bringing all related fields a great of help. Furthermore, the best papers of the conference will be recommended to be published in journals that are well-known domestically and internationally.
